The Governor’s latest statement regarding new COVID-19 restrictions emphasized our First Amendment rights to gather as a faith community. What does that mean for Passion Church? We will continue to meet in a responsible manner, maintaining the CDC and AZDHS recommended precautions. Please continue to practice 6-foot social distancing and respect your neighbors by wearing a mask when unable to social distance. Whether you join us in person, or join us online, let’s continue to pursue God! Let your faith rise up as we pass through this challenging season together.
If you choose to attend the in-person service, you are responsible for your own health and accept the risk of being exposed to Coronavirus/COVID-19 or any number of illnesses. Please make good decisions about whether you should attend or not.
If you are sick or unwell, we ask that you stay home. Please be considerate of the health and welfare of others. Enjoy the online service through the Passion website, Facebook, or YouTube page. If you need prayer, email us at email@example.com.
Remaining suspended for now are the Bookstore, and Foodbox ministries, as well as the in-person Southern Arizona Healing Rooms ministry. We hope to resume these and all Passion ministries in the near future. Our email prayer ministry and Sunday morning telephone prayer ministry will continue and the Southern Arizona Healing Rooms will continue to offer virtual prayer ministry.
Each Life Group is making their own localized decision as to when to resume in-person meetings of their group. Please check with your Life Group leader for the meeting status of your Life Group.
Please read the following Passion guidelines based on Governor Doug Ducey’s May 12 executive order and the related “Guidance for Places of Worship” (Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS)) and Phase 1 of the White House guidelines:
SOCIAL DISTANCING: We continue to ask all attendees to honor the recommended 6-foot social distancing standard. This includes recommendations to avoid handshaking or hugging others until further notice. While you may feel comfortable with hugging etc., others may not be comfortable; please honor each other by maintaining social boundaries.
Fellowship or congregating in common areas (i.e. foyer, bookstore, etc.) is discouraged at this time. Limited fellowship may occur outside with social distancing of 6 feet being maintained.
FACE COVERINGS: While face masks are not required, they are recommended for all attendees inside the building.
SEATING: Sanctuary seating capacity is reduced—there are significantly fewer chairs than usual. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. We encourage families to sit together while maintaining a physical distance of at least 2 seats (6 feet) between family units. Please be courteous to create the appropriate spacing between families. Additionally, worshipers are asked to remain in their row by their seats during worship.
AT RISK FAMILY MEMBERS: While we would love to see you again, if you are in a COVID-19 risk population (including those over 65 or with pre-existing medical conditions) we encourage you to stay home and continue to enjoy Passion services through our online streaming.
CLEANING: We have increased our cleaning and disinfecting efforts on campus in accordance with health department recommendations. All common areas are sanitized before each service. Hand sanitizer is available and we encourage using it upon entering and exiting the building.
Please continue to pray for us as we resume corporate services and develop plans for resumption of other Passion ministries. We look forward to meeting with you again soon!
23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. 24And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, 25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.
